Stacey & I ended up in an antique mall today. We spent most of our time in the masquerade mask section ;)

Alone Time

I love being around friends & family, but every once in awhile, I crave alone time. Today, after a long jog & a bit of excercise, I sat out on my patio for some afternoon tea. The weather was (and still is) beautiful. With the right amount of warmth, & slight, balmy breezes, Spring feels like it could be just a breath away. It was so nice, I brought Thor out to enjoy it with me.

Hangin' with the Little Bros

It's a blast having brothers. They brought over the youngest one's Zombie Candy-making Kit and we made a night of concocting strange and tasty (or not so tasty) science experiments. On the menu tonight: Exploding Zombie Brains with a side of green, oozing Zombie Barf. They make me feel like a kid again.

Warm, Fuzzy Slippers

It secretly makes me happy that Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow this year. Extended winters allow me to wear cozy things just a little longer =)

Gin

This botanical liquor is, by far, my favorite of all hard alcohols, being that I'm not a huge hard alcohol fan. Here is my recipe for Gin & Tonics the way I like 'em:

Dirty Gin 'n' Tonic
6 Ice Cubes
2 shots of Hendrick's Gin
1 small bottle of Q Tonic
(or 1 small can of Hansen's Tonic)
3 teaspoons of Olive Juice
Several Olives for garnish

Place Ice Cubes in a tall glass or jar. Add Hendrick's Gin. Pour in tonic. Splash 3 teaspoons of Olive Juice on top of the the gin & tonic mixture. Stir vigorously. Add olives. Enjoy.

Jessi Hone

To my little brother Jessi: the one with the gift of making everyone in the room laugh, the person with the same brand of humor as mine; happy 27th birthday. It's been an honor growing up with you.

Beautiful Art Created from Beautiful Art

Starry Night (interactive animation) from Petros Vrellis on Vimeo.

It's wonderful when people use technology to create art. It's a beautiful age we live in, where we're able to witness so many fascinating creations.

There's nothing like bubbly water to make you feel better when you're sick. I sure appreciated it today =)

Led Zeppelin - Going To California

It's hard not to fall in love with Robert Plant's hypnotizing voice, but it is difficult to pick just one song of Led Zeppelin's to post. Going to California is one of my favorites, so here it is =)

Honey

Honey - I go through the stuff like nobody's business. There's so much to love; its uniquely floral flavor, that golden-amber color, its viscous yet delicate texture, the many uses it carries, the way it's meticulously crafted, and especially the exquisite little creatures who make this magical nectar (but that's for another post).

Weddings (post for 2/4/12)

Today, there will be two blog entries thanks to yesterday's hectic time schedule . It was all worth it. I got to go to one of the most beautiful weddings I've ever been to for a couple of good friends of Jeremy's. The wedding was held at the awe-inspiring Natural History Museum in L.A. We enjoyed great friends, good food, dancing (well for me, watching people dance), and an incredible time!

Shel Silverstein

I was around ten years old when my little brother, Jessi & I discovered the poetry of Shel Silverstein. We would spend hours reading, memorizing, reciting, & laughing at his poems. Recently, I purchased Where the Sidewalk Ends for my ten year old brother, Jade. Hearing him laugh as heartily as we did at his age, when I read to him, warmed my heart. Thank you Mr. Silverstein, for your brilliant humor & wit.

The Illuminarium

In August of 2011, one of my closest friends, Stacey and I started an online shop on Etsy.com for things we love to make. We call it, The Illuminarium. It has been so fulfilling to create these products with love, and with such a great friend.
